ACCOUNTING MANAGERPosition OverviewThe Accounting Manager will proactively manage overall financials for the location, management of contract assets, risk management, client and customer satisfaction and financial performance. This position is based in West Palm Beach, Florida in supporting the Palm Tran. ResponsibilitiesReports to General Manager of a multi-cost center division with a dotted line reporting requirement to Regional Finance teamResponsible for all aspects of month end close, including posting of journal entries, variance analysis and financial statement preparation for multiple on-site cost centersResponsible for preparation and maintenance of balance sheet including monthly reconciliationsResponsible for accurate inventory and consumption recordsWork closely with inventory management team to ensure compliance with company standardsManage local on-site accounting team with direct responsibility over client billing and accounts payable. Includes training and development of staffMonthly tracking and analysis of job/project costs to budget and contracts by cost centerResponsible for monthly forecasting and annual budgets for all cost centersMonitor Accounts Receivable accuracy and collectionsSet-up new vendors and new clients according to company policyReview and Approve Accounts Payable invoicesReview subcontractor invoices for proper allocation to jobsHandle requirements related to insurance certifications, releases and other required documentsAct as back-up to Staff Accountant, Accounting Clerks and Payroll staff to keep the department running smoothlyAdditional duties as assigned by General Manager and/or Division Finance teamQualifications5-10 years of experience in construction accounting role2-5 years of experience in an accounting management roleBachelor's degree in accounting required. MBA/CPA preferredKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesStrong knowledge of construction accounting, cost controls, and job costingAbility to understand and review complex billing and job costing conceptsProficient in MS Office products, including Microsoft Excel and Adobe AcrobatKnowledge of automated account system such as J.D.
