What You'll DoThe Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting functions. This role will supervise accounting staff, lead financial audits, and collaborate with department heads and senior leadership to maintain accurate financial records, streamline processes, and drive financial performance.
Some of your responsibilities include:
Daily Operations & Reporting: Prepare and distribute the Daily Sales Report Ensure the timely deposit of cash and credit card receipts, and issue deposit slips for pick-up. Prepare the Change Fund for the Front Desk and cashier banks. Complete the Income Audit checklist and file necessary documents, statements, and correspondence. Review guest requests, folio copies, and billing corrections. Financial Processing & Payment: Process travel agent commission requests Oversee payment processing, ensuring payment checks are issued and adjustments are made as needed. Verify multiple invoices with statements and ensure accurate tax payments are made. Supervise inventory record-keeping and assist in preparing the General Ledger (G/L) for financial reports. Prepare and review bank reconciliations, including supporting worksheets for assets and liabilities accounts. Oversee monthly forecasting, ensuring accurate cash flow management and reconciliation of balance sheets and statements. Budgeting & Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of the upcoming year’s operational budget. Assist in preparing the Capital Improvement Budget and schedules requested by external auditors. Evaluate financial performance throughout the year and provide strategic suggestions for improvement. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee and ensure the accurate processing of invoices, accounts payable, and cash disbursements. Manage payroll processing through the Vantage Payroll System. Verify payroll data for accuracy and manage balance sheet reconciliations. General Ledger & Payroll: Supervise the posting of accounts to the general ledger for accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements, and payroll. Ensure proper maintenance and organization of required records, reports, and files. Review vendor statements and follow up on account balances. Oversee the preparation of the General Ledger (G/L) for financial reports and collaborate with the Director of Finance during audits. Additional Responsibilities: Answer telephone inquiries in a friendly, professional manner, promoting a positive image of the company. Perform other duties as assigned, as Kimpton thrives in a dynamic and flexible work environment. What You Bring Proven experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role (preferably in a hospitality or service-oriented industry). Strong knowledge of accounting software and systems (experience with Vantage Payroll System preferred). Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger management. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively with department heads, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.Why Kimpton?
