Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager organizes and directs all general accounting activities related to revenue and receivables. It maintains accounting systems that ensure proper revenue recognition, accurate and timely invoicing, and cash application, and managing risk in unbilled and outstanding receivables; provides financial statements, analysis, and other key management reports. This position has direct reports and requires someone who has prior experience as a people manager.
Responsibilities:
Manage, train, and develop the revenue and receivables accounting team of full-time employees Manage and lead the revenue and receivables monthly close and reporting process, including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of monthly/quarterly revenue and receivable reports Oversee all aspects of revenue and receivables functions including invoicing, cash application, reconciliation of billed/unbilled AR, and cash flow optimization Ability to understand technical accounting position papers and ensure proper recording and accounted for within the G/L Reviews daily RCM cash flow reports and analyzes as required Review and validate point of revenue recognition and subsequent period adjustments as deemed necessary Verifies support schedules to general ledger control accounts through the contracts module Support and implement annual and periodic price increase initiatives Lead process improvement initiatives, finding solutions to complex billing, revenue and accounts receivable issues Lead revenue and receivables internal control implementation readiness, including identification of control gaps and risks, and implementation of effective internal controls Build, train, and develop the revenue and receivables accounting team of full-time employees Keeps abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in the profession Makes recommendations to CRM team for customer agreements, pricing, and set-up Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed Coordinates year end audit review for external audit staff Other duties as assigned
