Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and train accounting staff (Two direct reports - 2 Staff - AP and Payroll) ensuring team alignment with organizational policies and fostering professional growth Lead the monthly accounting closing process, including journal entry processing, general ledger account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements.Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, CFR, CAS, and other relevant regulations.Drive improvements in month-end close and reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and data accuracy.Oversee the preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.Manage data integrity for accounting systems, ensuring operational reliability and addressing software and hardware issues.
Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in Deltek CostPoint and comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and CFR/Uniform Guidance.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in management, preferably in nonprofit or federal contracting environments.High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
