Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial operations and administrative functions in our NE Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. This role involves managing accounting processes, supervising office staff, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a distribution or logistics environment and a proven ability to lead teams effectively. Responsibilities: • Oversee daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, credit and collections, and sales tax compliance. • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Process and monitor invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments in a timely manner. • Supervise office staff, fostering productivity and efficiency across departments such as warehouse, logistics, and customer service. • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance workflow and documentation practices. • Manage vendor relationships and oversee expenses related to overhead. • Handle HR-related tasks for accounting staff, including onboarding, paperwork, and payroll coordination. • Ensure thorough data entry and recordkeeping to maintain audit readiness. • Support senior management with schedules, internal communications, and administrative tasks. • Collaborate with IT and logistics software providers to ensure system functionality and resolve issues promptly. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. • At least three years of experience in accounting, preferably within distribution, logistics, or warehousing. • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced knowledge of Excel. • Familiarity with distribution systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Infor, or Iptor. • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively. • Proven experience supervising administrative or accounting staff. • Knowledge of freight, logistics costs, and landed cost accounting is a plus. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
