Accounting Manager/Team Lead
Description Kimberly Casey with Robert Half is in search of an Accounting Manager/Team Lead to join our client's team in Eugene, Oregon. The successful Accounting Manager/Team Lead candidate will play a pivotal role for this non-profit in their accounting operations, using their expertise to guide staff, ensure accuracy of financial records, and bring about improvements in their processes. With a focus on providing support to the team, this position is integral to their mission-driven work. This is a lead/supervisory position, with no direct reports. Benefits/perks include, but not limited to: + Healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision) + 403b retirement plan with employer contribution + Life & AD& D insurance + Generous time off plan in addition to vacation and sick + 2 personal days for calendar year + 11 scheduled holidays + 1 floating holiday + 2 days of paid community service + 2 weeks sabbatical after working there 6 years + COLA increases + Dog friendly office + Ability to bring newborns to work until 9 months of ag Responsibilities: • Provide guidance to the accounting staff on a day-to-day basis, answering their queries and ensuring best practices are adhered to • Validate the accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable transactions, and other financial data prepared by the team • Monitor general ledger activity to ensure compliance with GAAP and organization's policies • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for management and board presentations • Recommend improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency without compromising on compliance or control • Facilitate audit preparation by coordinating with external auditors to ensure all schedules and requested documentation are accurate and complete • Aid in the development and delivery of staff training on accounting policies, software systems, and processes • Collaborate with the team to ensure deadlines, including month-end and year-end closings, are met in a timely manner • Act as a resource for resolving complex accounting issues and queries from staff • Assist in the development and implementation of new financial systems and technological upgrades as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in accounting highly desired • Proven experience in auditing, with a strong ability to identify and resolve discrepancies • Proficiency in month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting • Demonstrable skills in preparing and posting journal entries as part of regular accounting tasks • Expertise in account reconciliation, with the ability to reconcile all financial discrepancies • Experience in preparing financial statements, with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance • Solid understanding of accounting operations, with the ability to streamline and improve processes • Proficiency in managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up to date • Familiarity with Financial Edge software, with the ability to utilize its features for efficient accounting management.
