The Role and the Team We are looking for a Accounting Operations Lead, International to join our fast-paced, high performing accounting team in Cork, Ireland. As we continue to grow and expand globally, we understand that hiring the right people and treating them well is key to our success! We are a multi-national company with locations in 18 countries, with each location contributing to Proofpoint’s amazing culture. This individual will be an integral part of the international accounting team leading a small team of qualified and part qualified accountants with a focus in international countries. This is a great opportunity that will allow for career growth as the Company continues to expand. Main responsibilities - Lead and manage the Cork Finance team through internal and external reporting and compliance Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures General Ledger responsibilities including, but not limited to review and preparation of monthly management reporting packages Review of monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analyses and account reconciliations for management reporting Prepare and review journal entries based on supporting reconciliations and schedules Support in annual subs audits Lead and assist with implementation and adherence of SOX and other internal control compliance Assist on all mergers/acquisitions of international entities as required Lead and assist in process improvement projects, including coordination with cross-functional teams Lead and assist with the implementation of new accounting policies Support in the procure to pay process Liaising with key stakeholders Act as a mentor, coach, and advisor to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional development Job Requirements Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with post qualification experience working in a similar role Experience in general accounting in industry and/or a public accounting firm as well as in international subs; experience in international payroll a plus Experience in a management role Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of financial reporting standards, experience of US GAAP is desireable Strong proficiency in Excel Ability to organize and communication effectively across various mediums with varying audiences Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and prioritization skills System ERP experience, Microsoft Dynamics D365 desireable Protecting people is at the heart of our award-winning lineup of cybersecurity solutions, and the people who work here are the key to our success.
