Accounting Tasks, Reporting, and Reconciliation
This role involves executing various accounting functions, including document review, account reconciliations, and monitoring fund balances. Key responsibilities include compiling monthly financial reports, explaining variances between budgeted and actual figures, and reviewing, analyzing, and approving expenditures. The position ensures compliance with grant/contract requirements and University policies. It requires active collaboration with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies in accounting data, which includes performing internal audits and analyzing fiscal data. The role requires working with both the UF and FCPA General Ledgers. Additionally, this position is responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly A/R and A/P reports for the Finance/Accounting Division of Auxiliary Operations at UF. It also includes managing the SHCC yearly inventory plan and related reports. The position will analyze and provide data for the published Annual Financial Report and gather the Write-Off information for Banking and Merchant Services. Working closely with the Accounting Manager, this role helps prepare and finalize annual overhead amounts for the UF Budget Office. The position is also responsible for maintaining trends, graphs, and historical data.

Expenditure Compliance, Fund Balance Monitoring, and Discrepancy Resolution
This position ensures compliance with expenditure guidelines, monitors fund balances, and addresses discrepancies. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing historical trends, anticipated revenue, and expense projections for both annual budgeting and long-term forecasting. The role involves entering departmental budgets (Salary, FTE, TBAs, Distributions, Expenses, Overhead) into both the UF and UF Health budgeting systems, supporting yearly spending plans. The position also maintains a shadow system that tracks all budget-related data entered.

Financial Data Gathering, Evaluation, and Reporting
The role requires gathering and evaluating financial data, producing detailed reports as necessary. This includes acting as a liaison between UF and UF Health financial offices and department personnel for all fiscal-related inquiries

Processing and Reviewing
This role includes processing transfers as needed within the UF system, handling Department ID allocations, resolving account issues, and processing error corrections in PeopleSoft.

Expected Salary:

$53,000 - $56,000 annual salary; commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: Thorough working knowledge of PeopleSoft modules. MS Office suite especially Excel Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger, revenue and expenses, balance sheet and trial balance. Ability to balance and reconcile fiscal records and general ledger to the subsidiary ledger. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to create, compile fiscal and ad hoc reports. Ability to work productively, independently, problem solve, and prioritize tasks in order of importance; operate a computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Special Instructions to Applicants:
