Job DescriptionThe Encore Boston Harbor Non-Gaming Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing revenue audits, accounting and other administrative tasks as assigned by management. Ensures timely completion and accuracy of revenue audits and related reports in accordance with department procedures and standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports timely and accurate audit of non-gaming revenue and related reporting.
• Anticipates ongoing changes, problems and opportunities in order to maintain effective systems and procedures.
• Supports all internal business activities relating non-gaming accounting and revenue audits.
• Ensures activities contained in internal control submissions are in compliance with Massachusetts Gaming Commission regulations.
• Coordinates and prepares all related records and internal controls.
• Ensures compliance of all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
• Prepares accurate accounting journal entries to post to the company General Ledger in accordance with department procedures and controls
• Performs non-gaming audits for various revenue centers using disparate source systems and reporting sets
• Prepares accurate financial data for the company’s Daily Operating Report
• Collaborates with outlet management to resolve cashier over/short variances in a timely manner
• Organizes, audits, and stores transactional media backup to ensure compliance with company controls
• Provides excellent guest service by telephone or e-mail while resolving transactional inquiries
• Researches and resolves guest folio disputes and prepare documentation for chargebacks
• Completes month end balance sheet reconciliations including research of variances
• Follows all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards.
• Actively contributes to departmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
• Follows all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and property-wide controls.
• Delivers and maintains a maximum level of service.
• Contributes to company-wide communication and best practices.
• Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Will be required to obtain and maintain a Gaming license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Education and/or Experience:
High school degree or equivalent required.
Accounting, Finance, or related experience preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Excel is required.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Conversational English required. Ability to write instructions. Ability to effectively present information.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
