Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor role will support Jacent’s accounting department and its employees. This role will drive, execute and support various accounting strategies within General Accounting in both the US and Canadian companies. This individual will utilize their accounting, analytical, problem solving & project management skills. This role will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This role involves preparing financial reports, analyzing data, and implementing accounting policies and procedures. This role also ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review daily transactions such as AP/AR٫ bank reconciliations٫ general ledger and so onTake part in annual auditsEnsure that accounting objectives are met٫ and all operations are in compliance with legal regulationsSupport month-end and year-end closing operationsManage financial documentation٫ keeping it complete and updatedDevelop accounting policies and procedures in accordance with business targetsUnderstand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environmentComply with all company policies and proceduresComplete special projects and other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Profound experience with accounting proceduresExcellent knowledge of principles and best practices٫ as well as related legal regulationsStrong analytical skills and ability to manage large amounts of dataTechnical aptitude, exceptional organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.Experience working with technical systems and data– specifically analytics platforms and NetSuite.Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlineStrong critical thinking, problem analysis, and problem-solving abilities.

Experience and Credentials

BS degree in Accounting; CPA / MBA will be a bonusMinimum of 5 years’ experience with corporate or public accounting firmExperience and proficiency in technical and ERP (NetSuite) and other system skillsExperience and proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
