Accounting Supervisor

What You’ll Do

As Accounting Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for assisting the Director of Accounting in ensuring the timely, complete, and accurate presentation of financial activities for the Fedcap Group in compliance with US GAAP. You’ll supervise senior and staff accountants preparing the detailed month-end close journal entries and ensure that the team stays on schedule, delivers required tasks, and makes judgment calls where necessary to support the finance team in the production of monthly reporting packages. 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Working with the Director of Accounting to identify priorities, schedules, and KPIs for senior/staff accountants under your supervision. Supervising the collection and review of detailed financial data from various departments and sources and ensuring that all relevant journal entries to transfer or distribute the data to the general ledger are performed on a timely & accurate basis. Identifying and investigating unusual or unexpected items and reporting them to the Director of Accounting during the month end close. Reviewing preliminary financial data for reasonableness, providing an analysis of variances to budget and identifying necessary adjusting entries. Liaising with operational managers and local finance teams to resolve issues and ensure that the financial results fairly present the business operations of the unit and meeting regularly with operational staff to provide feedback about historical results and action items going forward. Reviewing all journal entries for the business units assigned for accuracy prior to posting to the general ledger. Advising staff under supervision on more complex entries. Suggesting improvements to processes and procedures. Performing annual performance reviews of staff members and identifying retention/replacement strategies.

You’re A Great Fit If You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (with a Master’s degree preferred) and CPA licensure desirable. Seven to ten years’ progressive experience, including supervisory experience in a large, complex, multi-faceted organization. Experience working in a nonprofit organization is highly desirable. Strong computer literacy, particularly with Excel (pivot tables/Vlookup proficiency) and ERP software (ideally Oracle).
