The Lottery Division provides responsible entertainment and prizes to the public, generating revenue for state programs, including support for veterans, economic development, law enforcement, education and agriculture. In this position you will: + Provide administrative support to the Regional Manager and District Sales Representatives to ensure the efficient operation of the Regional Office + Audit activation and return reports and all other retailer accounting items, as well as make proper entries and reconciles the daily activity reports + Complete Lottery ticket validation duties and enter information into the Validation program + Create, prepare, and distribute various forms to District Sales Representatives + Provide back up support to office staff + Maintain and abide by all security measures + Verify accuracy of time sheets, travel vouchers, and vehicle reports Preference will be given to candidates with the following: + Word processing and Microsoft Office experience + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Experience answering phones and providing customer service to the public + Experience managing files and records Essential Functions: + Verify and reconcile reports + Perform filing, typing, data entry, and records maintenance + Communicate and interact with players, winners, and retailers to share information effectively + Operate a networked personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and calendar/scheduling software. Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalency and three years of clerical accounting experience which involved the compilation, tabulation, examination, verification or recording of financial, statistical or related fiscal program using elementary bookkeeping principles and practices; OR the successful completion of a post-high school vocational/technical, business college, or area community college curriculum in accounting which included concentrated course work equivalent to twenty semester hours (or more) in accounting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of employment in clerical office work for each year of the required education; OR substituting the successful completion of thirty semester hours or the academic equivalent in a post high school Business, Accounting or closely related curriculum for each year of the required experience; OR any equivalent combination of qualifying education or experience; OR one year of experience as an Accounting Clerk 2 in the classified service will be considered as qualifying experience.
