Accounts Payable Analyst I
Description: Role Summary The Accounts Payable Analyst I role solves routine to moderately complex accounts payable activities in support of company. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on and supports the Accounts Payable Team through data mining and analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of internal reports, preparation and management of rents and landing fee payments, and other duties as assigned. The Accounts Payable Analyst I provides payment processing support and issue resolution, while ensuring compliance with company polices and controls. Key Duties • Supports the general ledger accounting functions. • Prepares, organizes, and enters monthly journal entries for various transactions in accordance with department policies and procedures. • Prepares complete and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and monthly account balance fluctuation analyses. • Works with 3rd party vendors and internal team(s) on statement audits, researching payment anomalies found and coordinating corrections. • Supports management team as needed by analyzing problems and recommends solutions by applying knowledge and experience. • Conducts ad-hoc analyses and reporting. • Identifies and contributes to process improvement projects. • Partners closely with other departments to ensure correct billing rates and timely payment (ports/leases). • Supports accounting specialists with questions and training issues. Skills: Accounts payable, General ledger, Reconciliation, journal entries, reporting, Airlines Top Skills Details: Accounts payable,General ledger,Reconciliation,journal entries,reporting Additional Skills & Qualifications: Official Skills/Qualification • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in either accounting, finance, or business administration, or 2 years of experience in accounting, or related area, in lieu of this degree. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. • A self-starter with professional curiosity, specifically in understanding general business practices as well as the airline business. • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads. • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs. • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks while seeing work responsibilities through to completion. • Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). • Ability to analyze and resolve problems with minimal supervision. • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum age of 18. • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred • 2 years of experience with complex accounting and financial systems. • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting.
