Accounts Payable Associate

You may just be the right candidate for this role, or another role and make your mark at Mill Creek._** At Mill Creek Residential Trust, the Accounts Payable Associate’s primary responsibility is processing incoming invoices in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounts payable logs as well as other accounting duties. **Essential Functions/Responsibilities** + Review and retrieve invoices submitted weekly via imaging system by regional offices. + Input overhead, construction and sub-contract invoices in accounts payable system. + Issue checks for all regional offices and construction jobs. + Set up contracts, change orders and insurance updates in the accounting software. + Work closely with the head accountant or supervisor who manages the cash flow activities to prioritize what bills to pay, and when. + Maintain files on existing vendors, entering new ones into the system, generating yearly 1099 tax documents and keeping files of vendors' IRS W-9 forms that list their tax identification numbers. + Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. + Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks. + All other duties as assigned. **Education and/or Experience** + High School diploma or equivalent, required. + Associate’s Degree in accounting, preferred. + 1 – 2 years’ experience in accounts payable role **Skills/Specialized Knowledge** + Multi-family real estate industry experience with an emphasis in construction, preferred. + Ability to work with a wide variety of accounting software systems, preferably Yardi. + Highly proficient in MS Office – Excel and Word + Strong customer service skills working with all levels of MCR personnel. + Comprehensive understanding of accounts payable and how it relates to the general ledger. + General math skills, working knowledge of accounting principles and accounting and financial management software, 10-key calculator skills, detail-oriented _Mill Creek is an Equal Opportunity Employer_ **Are you ready to contribute to the success of Mill Creek Residential?
