Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a part-time, contract basis in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations, including invoice processing and data entry, for a duration of 4-6 months. The position requires a commitment of three days per week, with potential for expanded responsibilities based on performance. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Enter accounts payable data into financial systems with precision and attention to detail. • Reconcile account discrepancies and resolve payment-related issues promptly. • Perform check runs and prepare payments in a timely manner. • Code invoices accurately to the appropriate accounts and cost centers. • Maintain organized records of financial transactions for auditing and reporting purposes. • Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Oracle, and SAP to manage payable tasks. • Collaborate with internal departments to address inquiries and support financial processes. • Assist with special projects or additional duties as assigned, depending on workload and aptitude. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role. • Proficiency in using financial tools, including Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP. • Strong skills in data entry, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. • Familiarity with processes such as invoice coding, check runs, and account reconciliation. • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. • Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and payment issues. • Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors. • Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving responsibilities.
