Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will oversee essential accounts payable functions, ensuring the accurate processing of invoices, timely payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a commitment to precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and match them with purchase orders or other supporting documents.
• Enter invoices into the accounting system to ensure timely processing and payment.
• Manage payment cycles, including weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedules, ensuring payments are made on time.
• Reconcile vendor statements and promptly address any discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for easy access and auditing.
• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve payment inquiries and issues.
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including preparing reports and reconciling accounts payable balances.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoicing issues and ensure proper cost allocations.
• Monitor cash flow to manage payment obligations within company budget guidelines.
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and addressing inquiries related to accounts payable. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of general ledger coding, accounts payable processes, and basic accounting principles.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and transaction management.
• Ability to solve problems effectively and collaborate across departments.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities to meet deadlines.
• Expertise in handling sensitive financial information and maintaining confidentiality.
