Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions. This role supports the organization’s financial operations by maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
+ Accounts Payable & Receivable:
+ Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
+ Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
+ General Ledger Maintenance:
+ Post journal entries and maintain accurate ledger balances.
+ Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
+ Reconciliations:
+ Prepare and reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
+ Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
+ Financial Reporting:
+ Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports.
+ Support audits by providing documentation and explanations.
+ Compliance & Documentation:
+ Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
Qualifications
+ Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
+ Experience: 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
+ Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
