Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for our Engineering team based in Thousand Palms, California. You'll be an integral part of our team, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer credit applications, and resolving any customer inquiries. Your role will also involve monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions when necessary. Responsibilities: • Handle the processing and coding of invoices to the right general ledger and job cost accounts. • Ensure accuracy in job cost data and accounting procedures, aligning all documents with the standards and budgets of our construction projects. • Maintain effective communication with vendors to reconcile statements, resolve payment discrepancies, and manage payment schedules. • Coordinate timely lien releases and preliminary notices, and ensure they are managed and filed correctly. • Proficiently utilize software like ProContractor, Sage, or Intacct to manage financial workflows. • Comply with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements related to construction projects in the management of payables. • Oversee the processing of customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency. • Maintain updated and accurate records of customer credit. • Monitor customer accounts and take suitable actions when required. Requirements • Applicant must possess a strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and principles. • Proficiency in Data Entry is required, ensuring accurate and efficient input of information. • The role requires skills in Invoice Processing, including verification, classification, and recording of invoices. • Knowledge of Job Cost principles and practices is a necessity for the position. • Experience in Construction Accounting is desirable, with a focus on managing financial records in the construction industry. • Familiarity with ProContractor software is a plus, as it will be used extensively for various accounting tasks.
