CoreCivic is currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Accounting team at our FSC (HQ) location in Nashville, TN. The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for reviewing invoices for accuracy, account coding and appropriate facility approvals. Accrues sales tax; sets up new vendors; keys invoices into the computer; matches invoices with checks; files and retrieves invoice support as necessary. Performs monthly reconciliations of certain general ledger accounts.
This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reviews incoming facility invoices for accuracy.Maintains a working knowledge of all applicable corporate accounting policies.Assigns, or verifies assignment, of proper account codes to purchase orders, accounts payable and other types of expenditures or receipts so that financial transactions are allocated to the appropriate account.Matches appropriate checks with appropriate invoices.Balances statements, mails/distributes expense checks.Verifies invoices for Warden/Administrator signature.Utilizes applicable accounting and accounting control procedures that are in keeping with accepted accounting principles and corporate accounting policies and procedures in performing duties.Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
