Accounts Payable Director
Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounts Payable to join our team on a contract basis in Northern New Jersey. In this role, you will oversee and manage the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial transactions. This position requires a strong background in accounting systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A background in large global companies is required as well as experience dealing with offshore teams. Responsibilities: • Supervise and manage all accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. • Review and approve account coding to maintain financial accuracy and compliance. • Utilize accounting software systems, such as Concur and ADP, to streamline processes and maintain records. • Oversee accrual accounting processes, ensuring proper recording of expenses and liabilities. • Conduct regular audits of accounts payable records to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Manage automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and ensure proper reconciliation. • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment-related inquiries. • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. • Provide training and guidance to staff on accounts payable procedures and best practices. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable management or a similar role. • Strong knowledge of account coding and accrual accounting principles. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Concur and ADP. • Familiarity with auditing procedures and financial compliance standards. • Experience managing automated clearing house (ACH) transactions. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and process financial data. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
