Accounts Payable Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and enhance financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, for our growing organization in Howard County, Maryland. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team while implementing improved processes and controls to support business growth. As a key financial partner, you will collaborate across departments to ensure efficiency, compliance, and financial transparency. Responsibilities: • Lead and develop a high-performing finance operations team with a focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. • Design and optimize standard operating procedures for financial processes, ensuring they are efficient, accurate, and well-documented. • Monitor and manage AR credit controls, ensuring compliance with established credit limits and proactively addressing potential issues. • Oversee Accounts Payable processes, streamlining invoice handling and supplier onboarding to maintain strong vendor relationships. • Establish robust payroll processes and controls to ensure timely and accurate payroll management. • Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial transparency and provide strategic business support. • Implement scalable financial systems and structures to align with the company’s growth objectives. • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team. • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and financial standards. • Drive initiatives to meet the demands of the Compliance Management System and raise concerns as necessary. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; certifications demonstrating attention to detail are a plus. • At least 5 years of experience in a finance role, with direct exposure to managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Payroll. • Proven experience leading a team of at least 5 members. • Strong communication skills to provide clear direction and build relationships across diverse teams. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Process-driven mindset with a focus on controls, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering company is preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
