How you'll make an impact Job Summary: We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Accounts Payable Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The Accounts Payable Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining carrier relationships, and supporting the organization's overall financial health. Responsibilities: Assist the Accounts Payable Director in managing the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Prepare and perform weekly or monthly payment runs, ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of funds to carriers. Reconcile carrier statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve carrier payment-related inquiries or issues. Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and 1099 reporting. Assist in implementing and improving accounts payable processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required. About You Required: Associate's degree and 5 years of related experience required. Requires some functional and industry experience and/or expertise. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience (3-5 years) in accounts payable or a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Insurance brokerage knowledge. Knowledge of Agency Management systems, including EPIC and AIM.
