Accounts Payable Manager
Accounts Payable Manager Job Description The Accounts Payable Manager will develop and maintain the work breakdown structure for projects within the accounting system, ensuring the financial activities of contract performance are recorded and reportable in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance and contract terms. The role involves assisting in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis for government and commercial contract projects, as well as preparing forecasts and financial trend analysis. The individual will gain exposure to complex tasks and work independently. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain the work breakdown structure for projects within the accounting system. + Ensure financial activities of contract performance are recorded and reportable in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance and contract terms. + Assist in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis for government and commercial contract projects. + Prepare forecasts and financial trend analysis. + Manage accounts payable processes including invoice processing, general ledger entries, and month-end accounting. + Oversee change management processes within mid to large-sized companies. + Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations. + Manage a team of 2 direct reports. + Utilize Unanet, Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Oracle, financial modeling, and other financial tools for reporting and analysis. Essential Skills + Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable Management. + Experience with change management. + Experience working in mid to large-sized companies with a few million in revenue. + Experience with government contracting. + Experience managing at least 2 direct reports. + Proficiency in Unanet, Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Oracle, financial modeling, and Microsoft Excel. + Strong reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reconciliation skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook). + Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. + Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given parameters. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Financial reconciliation and Profit & Loss experience is a plus. Work Environment This role reports to the Director of Accounting. The position is fully remote but requires the candidate to be local to the Northern Virginia area. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with a laid-back culture.
