Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of the Accounts Payable Department which includes Travel & Expense. Leads and develops AP Team members. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his or her manager.
Hires, supervises, and trains department personnel. Takes care of reviewing invoices, routing invoices to appropriate parties, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of all invoices. Manages expense reports, corporate card program, travel & driver FAVR program. This includes development and monitoring of processes, procedures, and best practices in compliance with company policy. Responsible for annual vendor 1099 issuance. Reports accounts payable cash requirements daily. Prepares and processes daily payment files. Acts as a liaison between branches, vendors, and the accounts payable department. Manages vendor discounts where applicable. Prepares reports as required. Manages the AP Automation process and acts as functional lead. Prepares intercompany billing for our Canadian business. Assists accountants and auditors in preparing documentation for annual audits. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or EHS. Collaborates with other departments on shared processes such as unclaimed property compliance.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 3-6 employees in the Accounts Payable department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
