Accounts Payable Specialist
Description Robert Half is excited to partner with a groundbreaking client in the biotechnology industry to locate a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist. Key Responsibilities + Handling the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, and data entry. + Ensuring timely payment of vendor invoices via checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments. + Monitoring and reconciling accounts payable subledgers and resolving discrepancies with vendors. + Reviewing and processing expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies. + Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including procurement and project management, to confirm proper authorization of invoices related to biotech projects or lab equipment. + Maintaining vendor files, including W-9s, payment terms, and compliance documents. + Assisting with month-end and year-end activities, such as accruals and reporting support. + Actively participating in process improvement initiatives to optimize accounts payable workflows. Requirements + High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field is a plus. + A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience. + Experience in the biotechnology or life sciences industry is preferred but not required. + Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. Experience with procurement modules is a bonus. + Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data retrieval). + Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. + Knowledge of compliance and tax-related requirements such as 1099 reporting. + An Accounts Payable Specialist (APS) certification is a plus but not required.
