The Erosion Company (TEC) is the largest and most experienced erosion control contractor in the Southeast, providing comprehensive erosion control, specialty materials, forestry, and site clean-up services to a wide range of clients.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Woodstock, GA. This position is responsible for invoice entry, ensuring timely payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting AP operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with employees at all levels of the organization as well as with vendors, upholding TEC’s commitment to excellence, customer service, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the Accounts Payable email inbox. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices. Review, interpret, and reconcile invoices; follow up with vendors on discrepancies. Accurately code invoices to the General Ledger and process entries for purchases, expense reports, etc. Manage the manual check process, including cutting, voiding, and recording checks; update details for CFO cash reports. Generate and interpret AP reports, including vendor trial balances and aging reports. Scan, file, and maintain organized AP records. Complete vendor applications for credit and set up vendors in Microsoft Dynamics SL, ensuring all required documentation (e.g., W-9s) is collected. Assist the AP Manager and Controller with special projects as assigned.Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Word and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, from senior management to field crews. Experience using ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics SL strongly preferred. Converting to new ERP system – Microsoft Dynamic Business Central by year end. Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting, including subaccounts, profit centers, and multiple locations. Knowledge of expense reporting, purchasing processes, fixed assets, and loans. Familiarity with 1099 vendor requirements. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the construction industry. Associate degree in Accounting or related field.What We Offer
