Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary: 
Westat is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our team to work on the Full-Cycle Accounts Payable process to handle vendor invoices (POs, and non-POs) from verification and coding through approval routing, data entry, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines. 

This is a hybrid work arrangement, with working 3-days onsite at our corporate office.  During peak processing time, you might be required to be onsite 4 to 5 days onsite.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Ensure accurate, timely, complete, and compliant processing of all related transactions including compliance.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
•    Reconcile and allocate monthly corporate credit card statement transactions.
•    Prioritize multiple deliverables in a time sensitive manner with accuracy, using excellent organizational skills.
•    Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies and resolve vendor account issues as required.
•    Ability to work independently with general supervision and collaborate with other department team members to effectively resolve issues. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: 
•    A minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Accounts Payable, accounting, or finance role.
•    Basic working knowledge of MS Office or MS Office 365, Outlook Excel, Word. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    College degree is preferred. 
•    ERP proficiency preferably Deltek Costpoint experience.
•    Government contract accounting experience.
•    Basic working knowledge of SharePoint. 
•    Working knowledge of Procure to Pay process.

•    Basic analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
•    Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/competing deadlines simultaneously.
•    Effective communication skills to interact with vendors, staff, and other stakeholders professionally and compassionately.
