Description Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry located in Fresno, California. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including processing invoices, maintaining accounts, and providing quality customer service. Responsibilities: • Handle the processing of accounts payable invoices with precision and efficiency. • Ensure the accuracy of customer credit records and monthly balancing tasks. • Conduct daily and weekly checks and electronic funds transfers. • Review vendor statements, investigate any discrepancies and communicate with vendors when necessary. • Maintain clear and respectful communication with supervisors and team members. • Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively and respectfully in person, over the phone, and through email. • Create journal entries by reviewing the general ledger. • Calculate and submit forms to the State for various taxes. • Maintain punctuality and good attendance. • Keep work area and equipment clean, neat, and orderly. • Show flexibility in responding to organizational needs and assume responsibilities for assisting colleagues with team tasks. • Answer company phones, address customer queries and transfer calls to various departments as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within the Wholesale Distribution industry • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and systems • Experience in coding invoices accurately and efficiently • Demonstrated skills in data entry with a focus on precision and speed • In-depth knowledge of invoice processing and the ability to manage high-volume workload • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze data • Experience in handling payable invoices and ensuring their timely settlement • Ability to manage a weekly accounts payable schedule effectively and efficiently.
