Job Description

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. The role involves processing approximately 500 invoices per week, working closely with markets on urgent payment requests, and issuing payments daily. This position focuses more on resolving issues and making payments rather than coding invoices. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and proactive in overcoming challenges.

ResponsibilitiesReview invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentMonitor priority check request email box daily and handle multiple urgent requests as they ariseAct as a liaison between corporate and field, including researching issues prior to paymentAnswer vendor and market inquiriesMaintain and compile accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and recordsDistribute signed checks and process overnight shipments to branches and vendorsCreate ACH uploads for the bank dailyResearch the status of payables in the process chainAssist in monthly closings by posting all invoices received by the last day of the monthAnalyze accounts to assist vendors in reconciling differences between our records and theirsIdentify and correct potential opportunities to minimize expensesFollow up with various properties on outstanding security depositsQualifications:2-3 years of experience in accounts payable (can consider 1+ years)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (understanding pivot tables and formulas)Research and resolution skillsHigh accuracy and attention to detailAdaptability and ability to handle multiple tasksGeneral accounting and accounts payable knowledgeNice to Have:ERP experienceDegree in a related fieldWork Environment

The accounting department consists of 20 people (AP, AR, and GL). The AP team has 5 members. Initially, the role requires on-site work in the DTC office for about 30 days until fully trained, with the option to work from home 2-3 days a week. The team has a close-knit culture, with accounting appreciation weeks and team events. The work environment is fast-paced and supportive, encouraging a 'can-do' attitude and teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
