Accounts Payable Specialist
Accounts Payable Specialist Location: Lewiston, Maine (In office position)  JOB DESCRIPTION The Accounts Payable Specialist is an integral part of the Elmet Technologies finance team helping to support our three manufacturing facilities in Ohio, Michigan, and Maine. This role is responsible for accurately processing and recording invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to our vendors and suppliers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES   + Organizes & processes invoices, expense reports and requests for payment. + Verifies validity and accuracy of vendor invoices. + Ensures all invoices are properly coded, categorized and approved. + Matches purchase orders to vendor billings. + Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Assists in month-end and year-end closing processes. + Responsible for month end reconciliation of A/P. + Sets up new vendors and handles vendor maintenance. + Prepares vendor payment forecasts. + Balances intercompany transactions. + Processes electronic payments and check runs. + Creates annual IRS 1099 reports and forms. + Other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS   + High school diploma or equivalent. + 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable. + Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail. + Solid analytic and problem-solving skills. + Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. + Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Hands on knowledge of ERP software systems beneficial. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS + Normal office demands. + Must be able to read, write, hear, and speak the English language sufficiently and comprehensibly enough to perform the essential functions of the job. + Typically works on a computer for 8+ hours/day. + Routinely communicates face-to-face, via telephone and by computer. + Must be able to bend, reach and lift 10lbs to shoulder height.
