Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist will provide financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN.
ResponsibilitiesKeep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.Maintain historical records.Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.Continue to improve the payment process.Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.Disburse petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.Essential SkillsKnowledge of basic accounting principles.Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.Excellent data entry skills.Effective organizational, communication, and time management skills.Ability to work independently or as a team member.Excellent customer service skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsEnsures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.Ensures policies are communicated and implemented within their team.Work Environment
Monday and Friday are remote. Tuesday-Thursday are in-office.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
