Accounts Payable Supervisor
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Supervisor in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves overseeing the activities of the Accounts Payable staff, managing the daily operations and maintenance of the AP system, and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures. Responsibilities: • Supervise the Accounts Payable staff, providing regular feedback and review of their work. • Manage the daily operations of the Accounts Payable system, ensuring smooth and efficient processing. • Uphold compliance with established accrual policies and Corporate Card administration. • Align operational activities with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organization's accounting policies and procedures. • Ensure adherence to Internal Revenue Service's regulations related to expense documentation and 1099 Miscellaneous reporting. • Lead the implementation and maintenance of special projects within the Accounts Payable area. • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages high performance from the team and timely resolution of financial discrepancies. • Use accounting software systems and automated clearing house for data processing and account coding. • Perform auditing of accounting functions. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar. • Proficient in Account Coding and able to apply this knowledge effectively. • Skilled in using Accounting Software Systems for efficient data management. • Experience in Data Processing is required for handling large volumes of financial data. • Strong knowledge of Accounting Functions, particularly within the context of accounts payable. • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) operations, ensuring smooth financial transactions. • Familiarity with Accrual Accounting, capable of managing financial records with accuracy. • Experience in Auditing is necessary to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. • Proficiency in Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, ensuring timely payments. • Prior experience in Supervising a team, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
