Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in finance focus on providing financial advice and strategic guidance to clients, helping them optimise their financial performance and make informed business decisions. These individuals handle financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.

In financial operations at PwC, you will focus on managing financial processes and confirming compliance with regulations. You will handle tasks such as financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of  

As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution with complex financial data under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

Supervise and coach Accounts Payable staff that process vendor invoices using a fully automated, paperless accounting system 

Allocate workload, train, set goals, prepare and deliver performance reviews of current staff. 

Interview, select and train new staff 

Develop, implement, monitor and document processes and procedures for continuous improvement to optimize productivity 

Oversee payments via cheques, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), wire transfers, and bank drafts including printing physical cheques 

Prepare monthly roll forward reconciliation as well as various management and statistical reports on top vendors, payments and account analyses 

Develop, implement and monitor procedures on PST self-assessment and Regulation 105 – Withholding Tax for Non-Residents 

Participate in weekly governance calls with the Offshore Accounts Payable/Inter-Territory Billing (ITB) Group, coach and guide them as well as streamline procedures 

Oversee the audit of the work of the Offshore AP/ITB Group 

Provide recommendations and participate in AP system implementations as well as create tickets whenever necessary in payable software’s vendor customer support system 

Assist Finance to obtain necessary documents and backups for various audits 

Handle any communications regarding the AP team and manage all incoming tickets via the centralized communications system as it pertains to the AP team 

Handle any Accounts Payable related issues that are escalated to the Finance Manager, Functional Leader or the Executive Team 

Any other additional responsibilities as assigned by your Finance Manager 

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve  

Relevant accounting experience, preferably in Accounts Payable and or/ supervisory experience 

Solid knowledge of accounting processes and procedures 

Experience with Basware A/P, or an equivalent electronic accounts payable system 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Google Suite apps, an asset 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Strong analytical skills 

Strong multi-tasking, time-management, and organizational skills
