Accounts Receivable Analyst / Rental Collections
POAH Communities is an exciting and highly entrepreneurial organization committed to community development and to preserving ‘at risk’ affordable rental housing. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Accounts Receivable Analyst in our Kansas City Central Office.
The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for monitoring property delinquencies, overseeing our collections data to include tracking within Yardi Voyager, handling general accounting tasks, and serving as the accountability manager for our legal vendors. Responsibilities Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies to reduce delinquencies. Collaborate with field staff to implement strategies to reduce delinquencies. Monitor and track delinquencies across all properties with report-out to leadership. Oversee the use of Yardi Legal Module. Ensure accurate and timely updates in the system. Train staff on the use of the software and troubleshoot any issues. Reconcile tenant ledgers as needed to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Act as an additional point of contact for legal vendors. Monitor the performance of legal vendors to ensure compliance with service agreements. Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors promptly and efficiently. Assist with general accounting tasks as needed. Assist with preparation and monitoring payment agreements. Assist with the preparation of correspondence to residents regarding their delinquency. Other related task as assigned.
Qualifications Some college education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related field. Collections experience preferred. Experience with eviction processes and legal module software is a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with an emphasis in Excel. Exposure to PowerBI and/or Yardi Voyager a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Periodic overtime may be required
