Accounts Receivable Specialist
Entry Level Accounts Receivable Specialist Opportunity in Columbia! Job Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist at our headquarters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reconciling and processing all paper, electronic, and credit card receipts not auto-posted through PeopleSoft, handling payments (checks) not posted through the A/R system, and verifying that all payment information is accurate and applied to the proper customer accounts. This role also involves processing and reconciling daily bank deposits, retrieving and compiling Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs), and researching unidentified Accounts Receivable checks. Responsibilities + Reconcile and process all paper, electronic, and credit card receipts not auto-posted through PeopleSoft. + Handle payments (checks) not posted through the A/R system. + Research unidentified Accounts Receivable checks. + Verify all payment information is accurate and applied to proper customer accounts. + Use web-based image application. + Process and reconcile daily bank deposits (non A/R and A/R). + Retrieve, compile, and process all Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs). + Research and retrieve imaged check requests. + Perform other Accounts Receivable duties as requested. Essential Skills + 0-2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field. + Experience in Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other advanced functions. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both internal and external customers. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of PeopleSoft applications is a plus. Work Environment The team works in a cubical environment within a building that houses the Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable departments. The team consists of about 8-10 members and values a family-oriented and team-oriented culture.
