Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Collections professional to join our growing company (6 month contract-to-hire). The ideal candidate will monitor accounts over a month past due, resolve issues, and establish payment plans. This role involves collecting customer accounts, performing credit checks, applying cash payments accurately, and responding promptly to account inquiries. You will also manage credit holds, oversee the setup of new customer accounts, and participate actively in credit meetings to address challenging accounts.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor accounts over a month past due and resolve issues to establish payment plans.
+ Collect customer accounts and handle B2B collection calls.
+ Perform credit checks, establish credit limits, and maintain tax exemptions.
+ Apply cash payments accurately to customer accounts to ensure proper allocation and reconciliation.
+ Respond promptly to account inquiries and manage credit holds.
+ Oversee the setup of new customer accounts.
+ Achieve collection targets and participate actively in credit meetings to address challenging accounts.
Essential Skills
+ Accounts receivable
+ Cash application
+ Collection calls/emails
+ 3+ years of AR experience
+ Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in manufacturing/distribution
+ Experience with accounting
+ Experience with excel pivot tables, collection, and analysis
