Description With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and strong client relationships, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client's growing team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial transactions by ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and effective communication with clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of industry-specific billing practices, including lien waivers, progress billing, and retainage. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contract terms. + Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up on past-due invoices. + Process and apply payments accurately, reconciling discrepancies as needed. + Work closely with project managers and clients to resolve billing disputes and ensure timely collections. + Maintain and update accounts receivable records, including contract terms, change orders, and retainage. + Prepare and submit lien waivers, progress billing documents, and other required paperwork. + Generate aging reports and provide updates on accounts receivable status to management. + Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable. + Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Requirements + 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably within the construction industry. + Strong knowledge of construction billing, lien waivers, and retainage procedures. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint, or similar ERP systems). + Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. + Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. + Knowledge of AIA billing and prevailing wage reporting is a plus.
