Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Melville, New York. The role is primarily focused on managing customer accounts, processing cash applications, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position falls within the finance industry and the selected candidate will be based in our Melville office. Responsibilities: • Manage daily financial operations, including invoicing and cash management • Handle cash applications with precision and efficiency • Conduct daily reconciliations of incoming cash against accounts receivable • Address and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts and financial transactions • Maintain accurate customer credit records in the system • Handle chargebacks and rejections, implementing necessary reversals when required • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status • Utilize skills in billing, reconciliations, and cash management to ensure smooth financial operations. Requirements • Prior experience in an Accounts Receivable role is strongly preferred • Proficiency in cash applications is required • Ability to perform reconciliations and manage chargebacks effectively • Experience in handling billing processes in a timely and accurate manner • Knowledge of cash management principles and best practices • Familiarity with reversals, including the ability to identify and correct errors • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Comfortable working with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
