Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description The Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst plays a crucial role in the Finance department by managing and optimizing the credit and collections process. This position offers analytical insights that drive decision-making, assist in enhancing operational efficiencies, and provide timely reporting to Executive Management. The Senior Accounts Receivable Analyst will ensure the effective application of payments, assist in the month-end closing process, and uphold a healthy cash cycle. Responsibilities + Manage Invoice Cycle (30%): Oversee the end-to-end process of invoicing, payment receipt, and customer account management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. + Conduct Financial Analysis (25%): Analyze various accounts receivable metrics, including aging analysis, reconciliation reports, and delinquency reports to provide actionable insights for the organization. + Policy and Procedure Development (15%): Collaborate with internal teams to review, revise, and implement effective credit and collections policies in alignment with industry standards and company objectives. + Monitor Accounts Receivable Metrics (15%): Maintain the accounts receivable balance within acceptable parameters (i.e., DSO), and make informed decisions regarding credit terms, write-offs, and collection strategies. + Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Teams (15%): Work closely with Sales and Marketing to manage and resolve deductions and promotions through both manual processes and third-party software solutions. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3-5 years in accounts receivable or collections, preferably within the consumer goods industry with significant experience in deductions. + Proficiency in database management and reporting tools. + Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and external partners. + Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with large retail clients (e.g., Amazon). + Experience with JDE software. + Occasional overtime during month-end closing periods. + Remote work options may be available based on departmental needs and employee performance. + Valid driver’s license and ability to travel on occasion, if necessary. Work Environment This position operates within an Accounts Receivable team in a very nice and modern office located in Rye Brook, with a hybrid schedule allowing for two days of remote work each week. The work environment is professional and supportive, promoting both team collaboration and individual performance. Candidates will be working within a well-known coffee brand, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced industry.
