Summary :The Accounts Receivable Specialist II submits billing to the appropriate party and follows up for adjudication and payment of individual claims. Is proficient in all functions of the accounts receivable specialist job. Is proficient in problem solving and serves as the first line of assistance when team members have questions or need assistance.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Demonstrates competency in key accountabilities of the accounts receivable specialist job.

Provides daily support to the accounts receivable specialist by assisting with questions, researching accounts, and problem solving to advance the team member’s development.

Coordinates and assists with onboarding, training, cross-training, and assessment of current and new team members to ensure competency.

Assists with enrollment for electronic claims and access to payer websites.

Is able to assume job duties of the patient financial supervisor and/or co-workers in their absence.

Performs other miscellaneous duties that may include collecting data and preparing reports, maintaining paper and computer files relative to the area, participating in staff meetings, supporting activities, and attending in-services and retreats to nurture personal and professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED preferred

Must be 18 years of age

One year of experience working in an accounts receivable specialist type role

Three years of experience working in a physician or hospital business office setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance

Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility

Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
