Location: Farmingdale, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Thu Mar 20 2025 Job Description: The department of Academic Support & Access Programs at Farmingdale State College oversees multiple programs devoted to providing underrepresented students with the needed support, resources and opportunities to meet their academic and pre-professional goals. The department currently seeks an ACE Success Coach to support students in the Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) program. The ACE program at Farmingdale State College is an exciting initiative that provides holistic services for college students who have demonstrated financial need. The primary goal of ACE is to help students earn a bachelor's degree on time. After a highly successful program launch in Spring 2024, Farmingdale State College currently seeks a full-time ACE Success Coach. The ACE Success Coach is a member of an integrated team providing individual academic, career, and personal support to an assigned group of students as they progress through the program. Reporting to the ACE Director, the ACE Success Coach is responsible for implementing advisement services, facilitating special events, and supporting recruitment efforts. The ACE Success Coach will provide key contributions to promote the continued growth and success of the ACE program at Farmingdale State College. Primary Duties: + Delivers comprehensive advisement support services to an assigned group of students through degree completion. + Reviews student progress and tracks student use of academic support services. + Conducts regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success. + Maintains accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs. + Supports annual recruitment of new students into the program. + Organizes periodic special events and programs for students, faculty and staff. + Conduct or support delivery of student seminars on issues of importance to students. + Performs other related duties as assigned. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field. + Strong understanding of the needs of first year and transfer college students. + Experience working with underrepresented students in higher education or a similar setting. + Experience with coordination and facilitation of group activities/workshops. + Strong organization and public speaking skills. + Ability to enter, monitor and interpret student data accurately. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field. + Experience serving as an academic advisor or counselor in Higher Education. + Experience working well with faculty and administration. + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and aptitude to learn new systems as needed. + Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. + Bilingual. Additional Information: This is a full-time Temporary UUP position. + For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, March 20, 2025, and ending Wednesday, April 2, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale. + CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Friday, April 18, 2025 + SALARY: $55,151 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $58,551 Total Compensation.
