Acoustics Intern

ERM is seeking an intern to join our dynamic Capital Project Delivery team in our Madrid or Barcelona office. As a global leader in sustainability consulting, we offer exciting opportunities to work on both national and international consulting projects. Under the guidance of experienced project managers, Senior, and Principal Consultants, interns will engage in impactful work that contributes to our clients' sustainable development goals.   The role will be desk-based in our Madrid or Barcelona office.

 

As this is an internship, you must be currently enrolled in either a Masters or Bachelors degree in a university which is able to sign a "convenio de prácticas universitarias". Upon completion of the internship, there is the potential of an offer of permanent employment which would be fieldwork based.

 

The Role

Providing support to the team in projects related to Environmental Acoustic Impact Assessments Assisting project managers and consultants in the development of noise models and reports (result tables, contour maps, interpretation of analytical results etc.). Generating visuals, tables, and presentations to be used in projects and proposals by the senior team. Reviewing reports and documents. Have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience, including planning and feasibility studies; environmental impact assessments; noise modelling; on-site measurements; as well as many other activities. Working across a wide variety of markets including Renewables, Rail, Highways, Mines and Industrial. Desk-based acoustic studies using programmes Predictor, SoundPLAN, iNoise, etc.  Assist in writing reports detailing our acoustic assessments and suitable for submission to our clients

 

 

About you

Degree in Acoustics, Maths, Physics or related discipline; Although the position does not entail field work, willingness/interest in field assignments will be valued. Fluent in Spanish and a high level of English Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills. Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills. Willingness to work in an international environment, coupled with curiosity, flexibility, and a team player attitude.
