As the Acquisition Managment Specialist, you will join an integrated government-industry team in Arlington, VA to help translate customer needs to contract requirements and to review contract and financial documents and other deliverables for conformance to those needs. Use your expertise and collaborative skills to positively impact our national defense and make a difference in the world’s greatest Navy.

 

Serco will provide technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of surface ship launcher systems. This senior position has aspects of defense acquisition management, systems engineering, and other related skills.

 

In this role, you will:

Translate customer requirements to contract documentation for Mk 41 VLS launcher and related production efforts.Review technical documents for conformance to the customer requirements.Develop, review, and process FMS case and international program related deliverables.Support program office tasking related to acquiring complex Naval systems. Work will require coordinating and collaboration with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and government field activities or labs.Manage schedules and plans of action related to system acquisition.Support senior government personnel and project managers in various acquisition and management activities related to acquisition, production, or in-service support. Assist in program office management of projects for USN and international customers, tracking progress against schedules, coordinating accomplishment of actions, coordinating the development of proposed solutions to issues, managing risk, supporting meetings, and providing analysis of acquisition processes and progress on behalf of the government program management office.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A current active DoD Secret Security Clearance.US CitizenshipBachelor's degreeA high school diploma/GED and 4 years of additional related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree)5 years of related experience. (Experience in acquisition, foreign sales, or launchers highly preferred)Knowledge of defense acquisition and financial management principles and practices.Familiarity with defense contracting.Knowledge of international programs and Foreign Military Sales.Advanced internal team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to work a Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office, 2 days telework depending on customer needs)The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree. Degree requirements may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.Previous government program office experience desired.Experience in Navy surface launcher and weapon systems desired.
