Woodward Action Sports Lead is a supervisory position responsible for making sure all aspects of Woodward Tahoe Summer Camp operations, safety, and services are being met.  This includes providing excellent customer service, exceeding our guests’ expectations, and enhancing their Woodward experience, in an atmosphere of safety, fun, progression, and achievement.  This position hires and trains staff to ensure up to date coaching progressions are delivered.  This position requires oversight and management of all equipment, features, parks, and cleanliness in the Woodward Bunker facility and outdoor zones.  Leads are also responsible in assisting management in key areas of business development. 

 

All camp employees are role models to our campers and should be prepared to represent the Woodward brand to the highest standard. 

Ensure the safety of our campers, guests and employees 

Supervise sport coaches by planning, assigning, training and directing work as well as reviewing performance on a regular and consistent basis 

Encourage, reward, and discipline conduct as appropriate for both staff and campers 

Address employee and customer complaints and resolve problems 

Create weekly sport schedules, and manage labor according to budget and business volume 

Train new and existing coaches on all aspects of the job 

Write lesson plans and develop new programs 

Fit, tech and train counselors in Park board™/Park ski™ equipment 

Teach air-awareness, body control, balance, coordination, and other skills 

Spot participants on spring floors and trampolines 

Run clinics and classes for visiting coaches/ pros 

Open and close all campus zones and facilities, in accordance to camp procedures. 

Identify and report repair and maintenance of features and equipment  

Oversee, assign and perform regular cleaning and maintenance inside and outside the Bunker 

Oversee campers and staff on Woodward Tahoe camp premises during summer camp 

Be a part of overall camp life and culture 

Create a working environment that inspires employees and guests to have fun and create lasting memories 

Uphold the highest standard of professionalism as a member of the Woodward coaching staff 

Work closely with the Program Manager to develop coaching model, training, and retention 

Communicate effectively and motivate children, teens and adults 

Communicate effectively with parents  

Driving golf carts around the property and occasional trips in a company vehicle to town 

Maintain a positive relationship with Boreal and Soda Springs staff, guests, and others in the community 

Make suggestions on improvements to the overall Woodward experience 

Manage staff in a professional manner 

Treat all employees equally and fairly 

Uphold company policies and procedures
