Active ETF Business Development Manager
Based in Continental Europe, the role holder will drive support and enable sales execution of the Columbia Threadneedle Active ETF business. In doing so, they will complement Sales Directors with specialist support as opportunities progress through the sales lifecycle, while directly targeting buying segments not covered by the existing Distribution team. Focus will be on converting the greatest areas of opportunity for the firm, agnostic to client type or market to deliver scaled growth against agreed long-term objectives.

How you'll spend your time

Contribute to and execute upon a strategic sales plan across Europe for Active ETFs – aiming to drive Columbia Threadneedle's growth on collaboration with the generalist sales team.  Conduct educational workshops to build client understanding and awareness (inc. general, technical and strategy specific ETF content). Articulate and promote the characteristics, competitive advantages and nuances of Columbia Threadneedle’s Active ETF range to prospective investors Partner with Sales Directors in client meetings / pitches to convey the benefits of the Active ETF QR Series (specifically, those with higher conversion probability).Support marketing and client servicing activities in various local markets in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Nordics), including presentations at events and 3rd party conferencesBusiness development and brand awareness by fostering and maintaining strong relationships with investors, market makers, influencers and key stakeholdersCollaborate with State Street Global Advisers’ Capital Markets team and the client to help understand (and optimise) liquidity and creation/redemptions on prospective trading activity and enable growth of each ETF.Enable sharing of ETF market and client insights across the EMEA Distribution team. Leverage own client experience / relationships where appropriate for the benefit of the firm.  


To be successful in this role you will have

Language Proficiency; fluent in English and at least one other European languagePrior experience in ETF sales.Excellent communication, written and presentation skills including with C-Suite stakeholders and clients.Established client relationships with investors in relevant European countries across the client spectrum (asset managers, wealth managers, regional banks etc)Outstanding ability to understand investment capabilities and position in a differentiated way that can resonate with clients.Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Desire to work closely with internal teams, including broader sales team, marketing, product, capital markets and operations, to ensure a first-class client experienceIn-depth understanding of ETF products and the broader financial marketUnderstanding of the mechanics of active ETFs as well as index ETFs.Up-to-date with industry trends and competitors to provide valuable insightsClient relationship skills; can build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clientsEnthusiastic about excellent customer service and eagerness to address client queries and concerns
