Activities Assistant | SHIFT: Full time and Part-Time (9 am - 5 pm), including weekends rotationally

Aurora Park Skilled Nursing and Rehab is seeking a creative and compassionate Activities Assistant to help plan and deliver engaging recreational and therapeutic programs for our residents. If you enjoy working with seniors and have a heart for enhancing quality of life, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a daily impact.

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, organizing, and leading group and one-on-one activities.

Encourage resident participation and tailor activities to meet cognitive and physical abilities.

Help prepare materials, set up activity areas, and document resident attendance and progress.

Escort residents to and from programs as needed.

Celebrate birthdays, holidays, and special events with enthusiasm.

Work collaboratively with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or long-term care preferred.

Positive attitude, creativity, and strong communication skills.

Comfortable working with individuals with dementia and other cognitive conditions.

Ability to motivate and engage residents with patience and kindness.

Must be able to assist with occasional lifting or transferring of residents.
