This Internship will work in multiple departments from June 16-August 15, 12025 in Burnsville, MN! _Are you intersted in_ _Healthcare Leadership- Life Enrichment and Activities Role - Culinary Food Services– Nursing/Nursing Support?_ _Interested in serving an older adult population (seniors)? Have a caring and empathetic nature?_ Ebenezer's High School Student Intern role will spend two weeks each in of 4 departments at Ebenezer Ridges Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Living Arbors at Ridges - **Health Care Administration** (leadership role as Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator & Assisted living Executive Director) - **Life Enrichment** (Activities/Events) -great for therapeutic rec, therapy PT/OT interested students, providing acitvities for seniors - **Nursing/Caregiver/Hospitality aide** - great for those interested in nursing, healthcare majors in college - **Culinary** - great for students interested in becoming a cook/chef Intern is expected to be able to work a minimum of 32 hours a week, Start June 16 and will end around August 15, 2025. Mainly day shifts, with possible early evening shifts in certain rotations, Monday-Friday. This is a temporary paid position with the intention to have intern apply/transfer to a very part-time, regular paid position with Ebenezer (any location) after August 15th **Health Care Administrator (nursing home/assisted living)** **- Leadership** Work with the Leader of the Senior Care & Living Campus site, support with project/clerical work, possible research. Shadow Social Work, Business office and Admissions team. Main work as support for receptionist in our Assisted Living building. **Life Enrichment (activities/programs for seniors)** Assist with a wide variety of resident activities/programming to provide high quality recreation-education-social-interest opportunities that enhance residents engagement, well-being, and satisfaction. Must enjoy conversations with elderly, interest in supporting residents well-being and maintaining active lifestyle, and must use good judgement. Assist with games, crafts, bingo, education sessions, cards, art, outings, special events and social activities + Support & engage 1:1 visit with residents + Notify staff of resident needs + Assist residents with participation in activities. May help transport to activities (wheelchair etc) + Help Life Enrichment director and staff to prepare and plan up coming weeks activities + Updating legacy binders on floor for resident + Put up signage for upcoming events + If supporting Residents in Assisted Living Building- then may assist resident to meals and pass meals **Nursing/Caregiver/Hospitality Aide** Support Ebenezer care center staff in assisting with the comfort and well-being of the older adults/senior residents living our buildings at Ebenezer Ridges Campus. Spend time shadowing and supporting other Nursing Leaders; MDS, DON, Nurse Educator, Infection Prevention RN. Schedule estimated to be mainly day shifts M-F. + Assist residents to and from meals + Pass meals to residents + Take and record meal orders + Answer resident call lights + Encourage, support and assist residents to /from planned activities with Ebenezer + Interact and assist elderly residents or TCU patients on a 1 to 1 basis outside of structed program times + Complete other tasks within scope of position (cleaning, organizing) **Culinary** Support culinary assistant/dietary aide and Chef/Cooks and Director in planning, prep, serving, cleaning for meal time service at the Assisted living Building (Arbors at Ridges) or Skilled Nursing Facility LTC/TCU units, Arbor Lane Memory care. Shadow Chef/Cook roles to learn about the creative process, regulations, typical daily duties. Must be able to carry items, walk, push carts and minor lifting. + Assist with recordkeeping and organizing meal cards + Refill meal table supplies + Wipe clean tables + Assist with beverage orders + Assist with cutting meats (wearing gloves) + Hand out warm towels, fold napkins and arrange place settings for meal service + Assist with wheelchair transport + Bring senior age resident Needs to the attention of the Ebenezer dietary or nursing staff + Shadow Cook/Chef to learn the specific duties this role provides within our setting **Qualifications:** Must be going into senior year of High School in Minnesota Fall 2025 Able to complete onboarding new hire appointment in St Paul, MN no later than 1.5 weeks before start acual date Able to start June 16, 2025 and will end no later than Aug 15, 2025 (little flexible on end date) Must be able to work 32 hours a week. Must have an interest in the aging services field and in at least one of the four career fields/jobs above CNA course completion preferred, but not required!
