About the Role

This role supports the Appointed Actuary function and MFRS 17 for the General Insurance business in compliance with local statutory and group requirements.

1. Support the Appointed Actuary function

Plan and work efficiently to ensure timely completion of Appointed Actuary related tasks, including RBC Valuation, Financial Condition Report and MFRS17, in compliance with BNM and AIA Group requirements.

Ensure compliance to regular regulatory submissions, such as quarterly RBC forms and data submission requirements.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of data used in analysis from multiple sources.

2. MFRS 17 Implementation and Improvement

Provide support on the implementation of MFRS 17 for actuarial valuation reporting, including producing comparatives and working in collaboration with other departments.

Understand Group’s requirements and BNM requirements for MFRS 17 and develop processes that integrate data requirements, actuarial valuation model and accounting solution for local statutory routine reporting.

Actively connect with the Appointed Actuary and other internal and external parties on MFRS17-related matters.

Job Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or currently pursuing Actuarial Professional Exam in any actuarial professional body.

Have knowledge and work experience in General Insurance and MFRS 17.

Good programming skills would be preferred, e.g. SAS, SQL, R, VBA.

Familiar with Prophet.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher.

Positive demeanor and good problem-solver.

Innovative with a strong willingness to learn.

Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
