Directors in this role will develop a presense in Cayman for life actuarial consulting. They will look to advise companies that are looking to establish or that have established in Cayman across a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as licensing and set-up, capital management, financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development. The Role
Develop relationships with clients that have established entities in Cayman or that are looking to establish entities Advise clients on capital management including impact of moving business to Cayman from other jurisdictions Build life consulting practice in Cayman leveraging resources from other parts of the Americas and potentially growing the team in Cayman Develop intellectual capital and service offerings relevant to Cayman clients Lead parts of large projects or whole small projects to meet client engagement objectives Share knowledge and experience with other colleagues Mentor junior colleagues Work collaboratively with colleagues in other geographies Review peer work product as a quality control measure Lead client correspondence in both written and verbal format Lead meetings and interactions with clients, managing expectations and raise appropriate issues to Client Relationship Managers Support revenue generation for the firm by meeting billable hour expectations and generating new business as part of the broader client relationship management team Complete CE requirements to maintain SOA credentialsThe Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in an actuarial role at a life insurance company, consulting firm, or financial services organizationKnowledge of Cayman market and regulatory framework is a plusStrong technical skills, preferably with ability to direct and review work produced in at least one of: Microsoft Excel with VBA, SQL, or RExpertise in financial modeling and leading projects utilizing actuarial software (GGY AXIS, Risk Agility, MG-ALFA, Moses, Prophet, and/or Polysystems) is a plusExpertise in at least one specific life insurance and/or annuity product lineExpertise in at least one of the following functional areas as applied to the life insurance industry: predictive analytics / data science, experience studies, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions, and product development / pricing.Motivated, independent learner willing to share their knowledge with othersAbility to work collaboratively as part of a local team and coordinate teams across multiple officesAbility to direct work involving technical issues and requiring problem solving skillsAbility to effectively assist junior colleaguesAbility to explain the big picture as to why an assignment needs to be performed, how it fits in to the final objective and ensure that tasks performed are directly linked to client objectivesAbility to balance supporting and leading multiple projects with multiple clients, including timely communication of project and deliverable statusFlexibility to put in extra effort to meet client deadlines when necessaryStrong oral and written communication skills to explain work product, findings, and recommendations to junior colleagues, peers, and clientsFSA preferredCompensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
Compensation
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
