Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.

How you will create an impact

As an Actuarial Analyst within our Reserving team, you will be responsible for supporting the actuarial reserving function for UK & European Property & Casualty business.

This is a fantastic role for a bright, enthusiastic Analyst at the beginning of their actuarial career. We offer great career progression, and we will support you in developing your technical skills and in becoming a qualified Actuary.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Work with the actuarial function in key reserving activities, including the assessment of reserves provisions, monitoring of experience, and production of management information.Assist in the business planning and capital model calibration processes.Work with underwriters to understand the business and to share actuarial insights.Contribute to innovation by supporting tool development and enhancements.Ensure data is complete, accurate, adequate, and timely – and that we comply with regulatory and risk management procedures.

Degree in Mathematics or related disciplineSome actuarial experience desirableStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong work ethic with a willingness to learnStrong MS Excel skillsCoding experience in Python, R, VBA or other programming languages desirableExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
